COLLABORATIONS
Even though it is a known fact that Joe Brainard created the covers for many of his friends books, little effort has been put into grouping these into one space. Thus the purpose of this bank of cover art of both his collaborations and contributions to the most popular magazines that showcased the work of the second generation of The New York School.
This collection contains more than 30 collaborative book covers in partnership with over a dozen writers made by Brainard from1964-1992.
This is not the complete collection given the sizeable amount of work produced by Brainard during his lifetime.
These are only a few of the many magazines that Joe Brainard worked on.
Most notably he was the editor of C Comics and he made most of the covers for A Journal of Poetry both of which featured primarily work by the New York School.
